The Madden Basin is Back!

It’s been a long two years, but logging on the property around the Sunrise Trail system is finally over and access to our beautiful backyard is no longer restricted.

We’re also happy to report the loggers left the deep woods of the Madden Basin largely untouched. The magic of Vermont’s winter wilderness is once again yours to explore!

Whether you’ve never experienced the Basin or just want to get reacquainted with the wilder side of the Sunrise Trail system, join us this Saturday for a free guided snowshoe trek around the Madden Basin Loop. The hour-long trek is suitable for all ability levels. Use your own snowshoes or borrow a pair of ours. The tour meets at the Snowshoe Hut behind Falls Brook Commons and finishes at the heated Community Tent where music plays, a bonfire burns, and hot soup is served. You’re welcome to BYOB your own adult beverages too.

Let our guide help you orient you to the miles of groomed trails and acres of untouched woods that make up the Madden Basin. Once you know your way around, it won’t be long before you’re making fresh tracks of your own!
