Our Prayers Are Answered

The Snow Gods blessed Killington with a much needed 6 inches of snow Wednesday night. And much more is forecast for Thursday and Friday. A mixed precipitation event is forecast for Thursday evening, but all indicators are pointing to heavy snow Friday, and clearing out for the upcoming weekend. You can’t help but smile when reading this bit of news. 😊

Be sure to dress in layers and charge your boot heaters for Saturday since the temps will be in the single digits to below zero due to an arctic blast with some wind chill. The upcoming week looks very favorable for snow which will be a godsend for Presidents week!

* Regarding “choice trails”, any groomers with five-plus inches of fresh snow is a ski and ride favorite. Bear Claw, Skyeburst, Needles Eye, and Cruise Control will be the early morning favorites. If you are in need of a mogul run, Full House now has seeded bumps to provide a consistent zipper line. Trails that have natural snow with no grooming and hidden moguls will require a bit of finesse because the firm troughs between the frozen moguls could lead to an unbalanced and bumpy ride.

Beware! Tree trails will entice you to come in and play; there may be rocks, branches and stumps hiding beneath the variable coverage. Stay light on your feet!

Have fun and be safe out there!
