Weekend Events and Updates

East Mtn RoadDownhill Throwdown Event
August 9, 10

Thrill-seeking skateboarders are coming to Killington this weekend. The town of Killington is hosting a competition called the Downhill Throwdown, which will feature several downhill skateboarding specialties such as Stand up, Classic and Street Luge, Gravity Bike, and Drift Trike. A seriously insane skateboarding event!

During the weekend, East Mountain Road will be closed to through traffic during the event from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm on Saturday and Sunday, August 9-10.  Killington Police Department will be stationed at the beginning and end of the course to allow for safe vehicle travel between each round of competitors (approximately every 20 minutes throughout the day).

The Downhill Throwdown is a part of the Push Culture Cup Downhill Race Series, produced by Dean Events, LLC. and Gravity Racing. More information on the Downhill Throwdown can be found at freerides.org/events/downhill-throwdown-2014.

Cooler in the Mountains Concert Series
Here’s another reason to come enjoy the Killington community this summer. The “Cooler in the Mountains” summer concert series is back! Grab a lawn chair, beach blanket, the family and listen to top names from the national music scene at the Roaring Brook Umbrella Bars and Deck. This is a free series and guaranteed fun for the whole family. http://www.killington.com/site/to-do/events-calendar/cooler_in_the_mountains

Vtel Update
Vtel’s contractors are very busy at Sunrise. Digging trenches, laying cable to the unit junction boxes, then backfilling the trenches with gravel in the driveways, and seed and hay on the lawn areas. If you are up here mid-week, please be aware that Vtel may be working in your parking area, or on our main road. Drive with care!
