March = Big Snow for Killington
What a difference a year makes! The winter is more than half over, and with the upcoming forecast for snow this weekend and into next, Killington and the HAA will be operating well into March.
As March approaches, make your reservations for a snowshoe dinner or lunch tour as soon as possible. The snowpack and the warming temperatures will provide wonderful opportunities to experience the winter wonder in the Madden Basin. Go to our web site: www.sunrisevt.com/high-altitude-adventures to book your next memorable tour.
The activity for the HAA has been very strong this year with lunch and dinner tours. The HAA team led a few large tours to the staff from Google for the second year in a row. HAA put on a full moon concert on Monday, Feb 25th. The event was successful due to all the right elements coming together: a full moon, mild temperatures, great food, great music, and a great crowd. We are considering creating more full moon events this season. More will be posted when an event is confirmed.
The dog sled event was a great success! The two teams took a total of 72 people on rides through the lower Sunrise trail system. Visit http://www.braeburnsiberians.com/ to book a private tour in Windsor, Vermont.
The Sunrise Café is gaining in popularity in the Killington community. Over the President’s week holiday, the restaurant served over 200 lunches February 16th and Feb. 23rd. Kudos to our chef Jakub, and the whole Cafe staff! The Café will be operating for lunches Thursdays through Mondays, and dinners Friday and Saturday evenings until season closing.
Killington Ski area has many events coming up in March. The big news is the Bear Mountain Mogul Challenge is back! Yeah!! Check their web site for the schedule of events: http://www.killington.com/winter/activities
