Fire Safety

During President’s week, there was a large fire that destroyed 36 condo units at Mountainside Condos at Sugarbush Resort. The damage was estimated at over $2 million; fortunately, no one died or was injured. The cause was related to fireplace use and not suspicious, however, the firefighters were hindered by cold temperatures which froze hose lines, water supply, and gear.

This event has prompted us to remind our homeowners and their guests to be very conscientious of fire safety. Please make sure all ashes are deposited in ash buckets, and disposed of properly in the ash cans at the trash areas. Also, please extinguish all candles before leaving or retiring for the evening.

Saturdays at Sunrise
On another note, the Sunrise Olympics celebration came to a successful end last Saturday evening. The three weekend event brought many families out back to enjoy the dog sled teams, fireworks, skating pond, warming tent, and luge run. Since there was so much participation, we will now be offering Saturday evening activities from 3pm to 9pm, weather permitting. Come sit by the bonfire, play some puff hockey, enjoy warm beverages from the warming tent, or race down the luge run. See you there!
