Happy Fall Y’all!

Ahhh, Fall in Vermont; the air is crisp, the mountains are brilliant with color and the community is bustling as we prepare for the best season of all-winter. As always, with the change of season comes a change in our operating schedule at Sunrise. The Sports Center is open daily through Columbus Day. After the holiday, the Sports Center will be closed for maintenance until Thanksgiving. The office will remain open Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.

As we approach our busiest season, we want to remind those who plan to rent their unit of our annual rental service fee. Whether your unit is rented short term or long term, once or multiple times, the rental fee applies to all that rent. The basic justification for the rental service fee is as follows:

“Higher occupancy generates additional expense”. A comparison of rental unit use with non-rental units, verified that on average, rental unit occupancies were higher than non-rental properties and therefore generated more variable expenses to the association. The fee is $150 per bedroom and is assessed annually. It is charged regardless of how often the unit is rented or duration of time. The association relies on the unit owners to inform the SHA office of their intention of renting the unit. If the SHA staff determines a unit is being rented they will initiate the fee.
