2021 Winter Season Observations
As the 2021 ski season starts to wind down, I asked several Sunrise homeowners to provide feedback regarding their ski experience at Killington this season. Here is what our Sunrise community had to offer. Thank you to those who took the time to respond!
The 2021 ski season at Killington had some incredible snow conditions and Killington Mountain Ops continued to keep up with the grooming and snowmaking like years in the past. We all had epic ski days, as well as a few true “New England “ski days.

The lifts still operated like the previous season’s schedule, however with the later opening the early season of hike on the Stairway to Heaven was missing, but not really missed. The lift lines were longer due to the social distancing restrictions. Thanks to the upbeat lift attendants, they directed the lift lines with courtesy, and encouraged acts of kindness, patience, and general politeness among the Killington community. Wearing a mask in the lift line was a pain, but that will be a distant memory come next year’s ski season.
We all missed eating, drinking, and socializing at the Killington Lodges, especially the Peak Restaurant. Perhaps the only silver lining about the lodge restrictions was we spent a bit less money on the mountain! Many of our homeowners also missed socializing at the Sunrise Café. Keeping in line with food, the Food Trucks were popular with many skiers. There were some excellent menu choices and hopefully we will see their return next winter.
Parking reservations were a new dimension in skiing at Killington and remembering to make or cancel them was problematic for some. It was great news when the parking reservations were lifted mid-week, and now we are free to drive and park at any of the Killington Parking lots. Just in time for the springtime tailgate parties!
