They’re Back!

Multiple bear sightings in close vicinity to Sunrise Village have been reported. While bears are exciting to see, they make for terrible guests i.e.; they show up unannounced, are gluttonous by nature and eat everything in sight, overstay their welcome and when they finally leave, you are left with a huge mess to clean up. To avoid bears making themselves at home here at Sunrise, we ask that you take the following steps when it comes to trash removal effective immediately through October:

  • Until further notice, there is no trash pickup on Saturday’s or Sunday’s. If you are heading out of town, please leave the trash in your unit and notify the office so we can arrange for pickup that Monday. When occupancy resumes and we advise you of change in schedule, please bring any trash to the trash hut closest to your unit between the hours of 12 PM and 2 PM for disposal. If you miss pick-up time, wait until the next day to put trash out or contact the office to pick-up the trash from inside your unit: 802-422-9494 or office@sunrisevt.com.
  • Never leave trash by your front door. Please remind guests to follow the same procedures.
  • There is no recycling service now. All trash is trash. Empty drink bottles, jars, paper towels, food cans, etc. have a food odor and will attract the bears. If you acquire a significant amount of recycling, please contact the office to do a pick-up from inside your unit or, you can bring your recyclables to the town’s recycling facility on River Road.
  • Please be careful when around the trash areas at night. That is when the bears are more apt to be roaming around looking for food.
  • Always maintain a safe distance from bears as they have extremely quick acceleration abilities.
  • Never put yourself physically between a mother bear and her cubs.
  • If you encounter a black bear, make as much noise as possible and look as large as possible by raising your arms, spreading open a coat or similar positioning to deter the bear from the area.

Sunrise Clean Up

Sunrise is in full spring-cleaning mode. Our impressive maintenance crew has been working diligently to get the village in tip-top shape for summer. Alongside grounds cleanup, they are performing inspections per the new SCA window replacement policy, deep cleaning the pool and sports center and performing miscellaneous jobs that are requested daily. Kudos and thank you fellas!

The men that make up our maintenance crew are extremely knowledgeable of the units throughout Sunrise and are exceptionally talented in various crafts from electrical and plumbing to carpentry and painting. Please consider using us when it comes to repairs and projects in your unit this spring and summer.  With that said, we do have a number of projects planned for the summer so if your request is time sensitive, be sure to include that information so we can confirm if we can meet your deadline.
