Moonlight Magic
The Snow Moon made a brilliant appearance on Friday, February 26th. The guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves in the splendor of the full moon as it lit up the Madden Basin and Village Loop trails while casting long shadows on the trees and hikers. This photo was taken after 8:30 pm!
Since the Snow Moon tour was so successful, we are considering offering another full moon tour during the last weekend of March. According to the Farmer’s Almanac, the next full moon is the Worm Moon! I kid you not! Native American Indians named it the Worm Moon because that’s when earthworms and other bugs emerge as the soil warms in the spring sunshine.
I prefer the other full moon name: Sugar Moon! March is the time for maple syrup production and hanging out in sugar houses to sample the sap as it boils down to that famously delicious golden sweet elixir.
If you wish to tour around some evening, we have maps that we used for the Snow Moon tour available to you. Feel free to email a request.
