Flex, Extend, Slide, and Repeat
This is the mantra for skiing the huge spring bumps that are showing up on Outer Limits! Flex into the bump to ride up the shoulder of the bump. Extend at the top of the bump while rotating your skis to turn either left or right, then slide down the face to the next bump, and repeat. Sounds simple! Well, there is a little bit more to it.
Remember, the soft “hero” snow can turn us all into mogul masters! Start on low-angle bump runs and then just take it to the next level. A visualization technique that is helpful is to think of yourself as water in a stream flowing over rocks.
Since we did not have a chance to enjoy spring skiing last year, make it a point to get out this year. Needles Eye, North Star, Great Bear, Double Dipper, Bear Claw, Pipe Dream and Wildfire are all waiting for skiers and riders to enjoy this coming week.
The warm weather and anticipated rain event will take a toll on the trail count but be assured that northern exposure trails plus our favorites, Superstar and Outer Limits will have enough snow well into April. Go for it!
